VRA Rescue NSW Dubbo Rescue Squad is the accredited general land rescue (GLR) provider for the city of Dubbo and surrounding villages. Operating since 1962, the squad is part of VRA Rescue NSW’s highly skilled and well-equipped network of volunteer rescue squads located throughout the state providing world-class rescue services to NSW communities.

The squad attends rescue emergencies – and non-emergencies – where our skills are required at road crash, industrial, domestic, large animal, inland waterways, search and rescue, and urban search and rescue throughout Dubbo and surrounds. VRA Rescue NSW is available 24/7/365 and our volunteers work together to manage their time/availability to respond to emergencies.

If you have a trades background in mechanics, construction, engineering or technology – the equipment we use for life-saving rescue will be familiar to you. If you operate remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS [drones]) for work or leisure, the state-of-the-art aircraft we use for rescue will be familiar to you. If you enjoy the great outdoors, getting on the water as a licensed boat operator, what we do in search and rescue and inland waterways rescue will be familiar to you. If you enjoy giving back to the community and stepping up when the community needs you in a time of emergency or crisis – then you are well-suited to the role of GLR rescue operator with VRA Rescue NSW.

All your training and the equipment/uniform/protective personal equipment (PPE) you need to do the role is provided while you are a member.
