Dubbo Rescue Squad

Dubbo Rescue Squad is part of VRA Rescue NSW and a is a volunteer frontline emergency service. As the primary rescue service for the City of Dubbo and surrounding villages, the Dubbo Rescue Squad's volunteer rescue operators are trained in general land rescue and available for call-out 24/7 - all year-round. The squad is made up of two types of volunteers: 1) Operational members - volunteers trained to respond in emergencies and provide life-saving rescue services, and 2) Non-operational members - volunteers who play a significant role in supporting the squad with public relations activities; supporting operational members at non emergency events (sporting events, community events, special events); training days; community engagement events, and general support duties that keep the squad operational. Training and uniforms are provided (FREE) as part of your membership (both operational and non-operational). Those undertaking operational volunteer duties as a rescue operator can attain nationally accredited and recognised general land rescue qualifications. Once accredited, rescue operators can specialise in a number of areas of rescue, including: remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS [drone]) operations, confined space operations, swift water rescue, vertical rescue, large animal rescue, urban search and rescue, land search and rescue, and other special operations roles within VRA Rescue NSW.
