Cook Chill Chat Program Volunteer
Healthy Cities IllawarraHealthy Cities Illawarra has a wonderful opportunity for Cook Chill Chat Volunteers to work alongside Healthy Cities Illawarra’s Food Sustainability & Community Nutrition team to assist with the delivery and evaluation of the program. Cook Chill Chat is an 8-week food education and cooking program that broadens social connections and healthy eating knowledge.
Cook Chill Chat is our food education and cooking program that aims to reduce isolation and build social connections that allow participants to thrive in their communities. Additionally, the program aims to increase cooking skills and nutrition knowledge and positively impact eating and cooking behaviours. The 8-week program runs for 6 hours each week.
Key areas of responsibility: • Assist with program preparation • Co-facilitate the sessions alongside the Food Sustainability & Community Nutrition team • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Cook Chill Chat
Attributes, Qualifications and Experience • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goal • Enthusiastic and proactive approach in overcoming challenges • Experience in facilitating groups is preferred but not essential
