About CaringKids CaringKids is a registered charity dedicated to providing practical support for young carers aged 18 years or less providing care for a family member living with a disability or chronic illness. Founded in 2014 CaringKids provides Toy Boxes to young carers Australia-wide, containing toys, books, puzzles, games, arts and craft materials, stationery, sports equipment and books.

Our clientele Young carers aged 4-17 years.

About this role This position will manage ongoing operations of the toy workshop and lead a team of volunteers. This involves receiving, quality checking, cleaning, sorting, storing of donations, packing and shipping of toy boxes. The role coordinates resources and liaises with internal and external stakeholders. The position is also responsible to ensure work is delivered on time, safety measures are in place and work is done to a high-quality standard. The role works closely with the CEO.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for toybox orders, packing, quality checks and delivery
  2. Ensure labels and other documentation for the toy boxes are available
  3. Ensure availability of sufficient variety of good quality stock and any materials needed
  4. Manage goods delivery, pick-up and storage
  5. Ensure all records are held in a secure manner
  6. Regularly report job progress and quickly communicate delays or concerns with the CEO
  7. Establish a volunteer roster for toy box packing and supervise volunteers
  8. Work with the CEO to investigate and resolve customer complaints and concerns
  9. Ensure Health and Safety guidelines are adhered to

**Essential** • Tertiary qualifications or extensive work experience in logistics, management or similar • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of people • Passion for CaringKids’ work, vision and mission • Strong Project and People Management skills • Computer literacy including excellent Google Drive skills • Good focus on quality and productivity • Demonstrated ability to work sensitively in a culturally and linguistically diverse environment • Self-motivated person, able to work independently without supervision • Willingness to undertake a Working With Children Check and National Police Check • NSW Drivers Licence and own transport • Experience within the not-for-profit sector as an employee or volunteer • Knowledge of toys and their appropriateness for children and teenagers • Previous experience in a related area • Previous experience working in a warehouse or managing logistics

**Expected Behaviours and Accountability** • Maintain best practice in accordance with CaringKids policies and procedures • Protect the confidentiality and privacy of clients and clients’ records • Be compliant with WH&S and Covid regulations • Act in a professional manner consistent with CaringKids values • Inform your Manager of any concerns, issues or difficulties as they arise with regard to staff, volunteers and clients of CaringKids

The role requires a level of physical fitness as it involves moving of heavy items and packed toy boxes.

The toy workshop operates on weekdays and Saturdays.

NSW Drivers Licence and own transport required.
