Volunteer Community Transport Assistant (3435)

Our Community Transport Assistant Volunteer provides service working alongside our Community Transport Drivers to support Clients to attend social outings. The role is to provide a safe, reliable and punctual service to enable our clients to access the community, attend social outings and reduce isolation in their everyday lives.
The role involves providing friendship and companionship to Clients. Supporting Clients to build and maintain a sense of connectedness with others. Assisting Clients to attend scheduled social outings with other community members at venues in the Newcastle area. Assisting the Client in and out of vehicles. Assist Clients with storing and folding walking aids/wheelchairs into the vehicle. Reporting any interactions with clients or concerns to the Transport Operations Manager.
