About the role

In this role you’ll make an invaluable contribution to the operation and growth the ASRC’s Cleaning Social Enterprise, giving you the opportunity to directly impact the lives of people seeking asylum. You’ll be providing customer service and administration support to both clients of the business, and our employees (ASRC members who are seeking asylum). Your work will contribute to ensuring we provide a high-quality and reliable service to our clients, and a positive experience for our employees.

Program: Social Enterprises

The ASRC Social Enterprises exist to create pathways to sustainable employment and financial independence for people seeking asylum. The ASRC currently operates two social enterprises - ASRC Catering and ASRC Cleaning. These enterprises provide people seeking asylum and refugees with training and work experience to develop new skills and regain autonomy and purpose.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing job bookings including; allocating staff and tasks, rostering
  • Managing the Booking system to reconfirm jobs with customers and staff
  • Customer service including: acknowledging job requests and arranging quotations, feedback and issue resolution
  • Employee support including: journey planning, recording times worked, empowering and supporting our staff (people seeking asylum)
  • Documenting relevant information for successful handover to other shift volunteers
  • Contributing new ideas for improving processes and operations

What we’re looking for

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • A solid understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel, with good general computer skills ∙
  • An ability to work well as part of a team
  • Demonstrable time and task management skills
  • A good level of English
  • Access to a computer is required due to the role operating in a mostly remote capacity

Volunteer shifts

We are looking for a commitment of 1 shift per week, for a minimum of 6 months. Shifts are available Monday - Friday 10am - 5pm
