We are looking for kind, committed and positive people to join our team of 1:1 social support volunteers. This program is designed to support older people to reengage and reconnect with their community and to the things they love to do.

Meredith* has an interest in animals, John Wayne movies, Bollywood movies and loves reading Mills and Boon books. In the past she liked gardening but is not able to do that any more. She has been described as a chatty, family orientated person who prefers small groups over crowds. She would like a friendly, chatty volunteer who loves animals especially cats, to visit her one afternoon per week for a chat and a cuppa.

To be successful in this role you will need to have good communications skills and the ability to work independently. As a valued member of social support team you will have access to ongoing training and development opportunities, meet new people and develop new skills. You will have support from a dedicated volunteer coordinator throughout your volunteer journey. You will be volunteering to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice to make an impact in your community.
