  1. Meal preparation including washing, peeling and slicing vegetables, etc under the direct supervision of the Cook.
  2. Serving the prepared food from the Bain Marie utilising safe food practices.
  3. Cleaning all kitchen utensils including pots, pans, crockery and cutlery following current sanitation standards and guidelines.
  4. Clean oven and stove as per guidelines.
  5. Clean benches plus cafe tables and chairs.
  6. Sweep and mop the kitchen and cafe floor after lunch.
  7. Remove all rubbish and food scraps from the kitchen area.
  8. Package and correctly label leftover food items before storing as per food safety guidelines.
  9. Clean work spaces and cold storage areas.
  10. Report any safety or maintenance concerns to the BLCM. eg: broken kitchen items, expired food.
  11. Barista skills highly desired
  12. Completion of a Food Safety certificate (eg: I’m Alert Food Safety) The ability to clearly communicate with all team members and follow direction and instructions for safe food preparation is essential. Experience with food handling in a Commercial kitchen environment is desirable but not essential.
