Chenrezig Institute

Logo for Chenrezig Institute

Located in the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast (Eudlo), Queensland, Chenrezig Institute is a dedicated facility for Buddhist education and practice. Chenrezig Institute was the first centre (outside the Indian sub-continent) of the international Tibetan Buddhist organisation, The Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT) an organisation founded by two amazing Tibetan masters, Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche. Our centre is home to a Tibetan teacher, resident nuns and monks, and a community of lay students, volunteers, and guests. A range of Buddhist and secular programs are offered, through which people’s minds and hearts can be transformed for the benefit of others. As well as our beautiful meditation hall, the very heart of our centre, we also offer a vegetarian cafe, extensive library, art studio, our Garden of Enlightenment memorial gardens, and extensive rainforest grounds, all of which are open to the general public. A range of simple accommodation is available.
