Share your interest in home renovations and woodwork projects with Vin | Cranbourne East

Uniting Social Support Program keeps people connected to the community to support them live a happy and healthy life. The program assists people to keep doing the things they love. Whatever ‘living life to the fullest” looks like for them, we support them to make it happen.
Vin* always considered himself to be cool and calm, but he has recently developed health issues which sometimes make him frustrated and impatient. We are looking for a kind and patient volunteer to help Vin refocus on the things that he loves to do. In the past Vin liked playing lawn bowls and occupied himself by engaging in woodwork projects and home renovations. He enjoyed reading science fiction, and anything to do with cars and motor bikes. Now he spends his time reading and watching TV.
Vin would prefer a mature, male volunteer with similar interests who can converse on a range of topics and be willing to take Vin* out for community outings when he is feeling well enough. Vin would also enjoy home visits for a chat over refreshments.
As a valued member of the social support team, you will have access to: ongoing training and development opportunities, meet new people and develop new skills, and a dedicated volunteer coordinator who will assist you throughout your volunteer journey. Volunteer to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice to make an impact in your community. If you are interested in more information about this role, please call 139375 and quote RH-S-09. *Name changed to protect privacy.
