Programs Team Member (3326)
Hunter Volunteer CentreYour affinity with children/young people is essential for this role, as is your ability to provide empathy & compassion. Your previous experience working with children/young people is extremely advantageous but not essential. Duties will include data entry, observations, facilitating programs with children, updating resources, carer support & child contact.
Join this dedicated group of volunteers who provide services to support children and young people, from infancy to adulthood, with incarcerated parents. You'll have the opportunity to reduce the likelihood of children transitioning into child protection and the justice system, help avoid family fragmentation, and reduce both juvenile and adult recidivism.
A current Working with Children Check is required and a National Criminal Check will be undertaken by the organisation. A full position description is provided along with onboarding, ongoing training (including WHS), access to online and updated courses, and one-to-one face-to-face ongoing support and supervision. The team holds weekly meetings to share experiences and receive support. Additional screening processes may be undertaken by the organisation (e.g. reference checks).
