During these challenging times we need volunteers more than ever to support isolated people in our community to feel socially connected again. If you’re a ‘people person’ and would like to make a difference to someone’s life, we would love to hear from you!

Jian is an avid reader who loves staying connected to Chinese and world news online. Health decline has meant Jian can no longer access his community as much as he’d like, so he’d love a weekly visit from a kind and chatty volunteer! Fluency in Mandarin is a must, as is a connection to Chinese culture. Alongside conversation and boardgames, Jian* would also like to improve his everyday English skills.

Provide companionship, and support Jian* to achieve his social goals. Valid driver’s license and car necessary. Practical communication skills and confidence to work independently are a must.
