Are you mature and well-spoken, and keen to support an older person to stay socially connected and active? Jane* would like someone who is willing to do this through a mixture of sharing conversation and refreshments at her home, or taking her out and about in her local community for a coffee or walk.

Jane is an artistic person whose past passions were cooking, stitching, drawing and craft. The volunteer will need to be patient, non-judgemental, respectful and easy-going, and able to engage people with dementia easily in conversation. A car may be be required for future visits, but not essential to the connection. Jane would enjoy going for a short walk and sitting in a park to enjoy some fresh air and a green environment. She may also enjoy getting out for coffee and conversation. The ability to speak Tamil is required. The volunteer must demonstrate the confidence to work independently and be prepared to use their own vehicle to transport Jane* on occasion. Interested?
