Central Bayside Community Health Services

Central Bayside Community Health Services (CBCHS) values the contribution of volunteers to its programs. Volunteers can assist with a range of CBCHS programs including; Adult Community Options - Day programs for adults with an intellectual disability. Social Support Groups, - social groups for the aged and adults with a disability. Physiotherapy Services - physical activity programs for clients, including Aquatic Physiotherapy, Strength and Balance Group, Strength Training, and Gentle Exercise. Community Visitors Scheme - a federally funded program which aims to enrich the quality of life of residents of aged care facilities who are socially isolated or lonely, and who would benefit from a friendly visitor. A Community Visitor is a Volunteer who is matched with a resident of an aged care facility, and who visits on a regular basis to provide friendship and companionship.Visits can be spent doing something both the resident and the volunteer enjoy - reading, listening to music, chatting and reminiscing or going for a walk or other outing. Central Bayside Community Health Services (CBCHS) Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) operates within the geographic municipal areas of Bayside and Kingston, working with 44 aged care facilities. A total of 97 Volunteer Visitors visit as friends/companions on a fortnightly basis.
