Since 1986, PACT has been supporting child victims of crime throughout the criminal justice process. In 2022, the Department of Justice and Attorney General (DJAG) granted PACT additional funding to extend its assistance to adult victims of crime, particularly those affected by sexual abuse and domestic violence. Our guiding principle is to educate, empower, and support victims of crime. This assistance is delivered by over 100 volunteers across Queensland, complemented by a small team of five paid staff members in our Brisbane office. Volunteers play a vital role in offering impartial and empathetic support to adults and children required to give evidence in criminal courts, either as victims or witnesses of a crime.
