Wesley Mission Queensland is an innovative and responsive not-for-profit community service provider that works alongside families, children, couples and seniors to help build stronger and more inclusive communities. We are currently hosting a Community Visitors Scheme where you can be matched up with people being supported by Wesley Mission Queensland in their own homes or in our aged care facilities. The Community Visitors Scheme is about building companionship and friendship for older people who may be socially isolated or lonely or who don’t get out often. Having someone willing to sit for half an hour during a weekly or fortnightly visit to talk about gardening or football or any general interest, read the paper or a book, play a game, or watch your favourite TV show together goes a huge way towards helping a person who is socially isolated feel cared about. Your support as a Community Visitor will change lives and, in the process, change your life. You will make friends and build valuable relationships.
