JoCare understands that technology can help stave off loneliness and can enrich an older person’s life by opening up communication with family, grandchildren, community events, online courses, online meetings and can provide another avenue for regular contact. JoCare Digital Mentors provide support to older people in a group setting where volunteers have the support of other mentors. You do not need to be an expert, just enjoy the benefits of technology. The vision of JoCare is directed to encouraging friendship and support within neighbourhoods in the local Stonnington area. JoCare volunteers make a difference in the community by connecting with those who are socially isolated. We visit older people in their home and in residential aged care facilities.
