This rewarding role would suit applicants that are passionate about helping Ronald McDonald House Charities North Australia support families of seriously ill children and their families.

What is your mission, you ask?

This role can be what you make of it. Some of our volunteers complete study during their shift, others put on DVD's and pop popcorn, others help our parents as they cook dinner or read stories to any children in the House. The role also includes the following:

• Providing guest support during weekends. This may include checking a family into the House, or checking them out on departure you might be providing change for the washing machine, or grabbing some extra towels for a guest. • Providing reception support. Answering telephone calls, taking accommodation requests, taking messages, answering queries and completing our guest occupancy paperwork. • Assisting with general housekeeping duties including emptying bins, turning lights off, ensuring doors are locked and doing general clean and tidy of kitchen areas when necessary. • In the event of an emergency the weekend volunteers will provide support to the House and the families we are accommodating at the time. . What skills and characteristics are needed?

• We don’t need you to have any prior experience, all training will be provided and in most instances, the powers needed to succeed are already within! • Must enjoy helping us maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the House and do so proactively and with enthusiasm. • Be the type of person that values and respects others, has a great sense of humour, is reliable, honest and can work as part of our amazing volunteer team, but also has the ability to work independently, under the leadership of staff.
