Community Driver

Link Community Transport

LINK is committed to assisting older people and people with a disability and their carers to maintain an active and engaged social and civic life. This is facilitated by assisting clients to access social and recreational activities that fosters their capacity to "age in place". The Out and About Program fills the gap for people who experience "transport disadvantage" due to a range of concerns. Volunteer Drivers follow a detailed schedule to provide transport to LINK clients to enable them to participate in their community.

To become a volunteer, you must be 25 years or older and possess a full drivers licence, as well as have an understanding of written and spoken English. While most of our clients come from diverse cultures and backgrounds, most of them speak English.

LINK have a variety of vehicles to suit every driver's capabilities, including sedans and mini buses. We currently have sites at Thomastown, Hurstbridge, Hoppers Crossing, Sunbury, and Maribyrnong. We provide comprehensive training, support and uniform to ensure you will be on track to becoming a fantastic volunteer with LINK.
