RADIO LOLLIPOP - Monash Children's Hospital

Radio Lollipop is a volunteer-run international children’s charity providing care, comfort, play and entertainment to sick children in hospital. One of our key points of difference from many other charities is that we are entirely run by volunteers. Radio Lollipop engages the imagination of children to free them from the routine of the hospital environment by visiting them at their bedside with a range of craft activities, games and entertainment and inviting them to the studio and play area.

Radio Lollipop at the Monash Children’s Hospital is seeking expressions of interest from new volunteers aged 18+ to join our team. Volunteers will be required to commit to at least one 3 hour shift per week. We operate Monday-Thursday nights from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm and Saturday, Sunday mornings from 9 am to 12 noon. Volunteers will be able to get involved in fundraising events, play activities, creating arts and crafts, and will have the opportunity to progress to announcing and producing the radio show from our studio in the hospital. This is a privileged opportunity to help sick children smile and recover through laughter and play.

We are seeking people from a range of ages and backgrounds. To register your interest in this intake please Express Interest via this advert. We will be hosting an information session via Zoom to go into more detail about what we do here at Radio Lollipop and what goes on during an average shift. These information sessions will go for 1 hour and is open to everyone who applies.

Radio Lollipop is holding information sessions to allow applicants to learn more about our charity. These sessions also allow you to ask any questions you may have about the role and its requirements. Attendance of the information session is mandatory for your applications to progress further. We will host two online zoom sessions on Saturday the 10th of July and Sunday the 11th of July. Links will be sent out when the application is completed.
