If you are committed to the care and well-being of our animal friends, we need many hands to assist us. Our volunteers are involved in various roles including assisting our animal attendants with cleaning and caring for dogs, cats, small animals and occasionally livestock; providing administration support or participating at our events. If you are interested in an animal handling role, your tasks will include (but are not limited to) cleaning and disinfecting kennels, cages, litter trays and bowls (and pooper scooping, of course!); general maintenance of areas, including sweeping, mopping and re-stocking supplies; preparing bedding, preparing and distributing food; and then after the chores are done, there's exercising, general grooming and socialising with the animals. This is a physically demanding role due to the strength of many of the dogs and the use of industrial-type equipment for cleaning pens. So if you are passionate about supporting creatures great and small, we have a role for you!
