This position is suitable for couples or single people who are currently studying or working either full or part time. The Lead Tenant Program is designed to support young people (aged 16-18) to develop independent living skills.

Role of the Lead Tenant Volunteer

Berry Street’s Northern Lead Tenant program is in the process of recruiting volunteer mentor ‘Lead Tenants’, for a live-in role that supports young people in Out of Home Care to build on their exposure to environments and experiences that more closely reflect the wider community and in doing so preparing them for Leaving Care. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual or couple looking for a rewarding experience, to give back to the community, gain experience and follow their passion of working with young people.

Lead Tenants and young people will have access to the agency's on call support system. We are looking for people from all backgrounds, preferably with some experience working with young people.

As a Lead Tenant volunteer you will be part of a professional team. You will need to undergo a WWCC and Police Check prior to commencement.

For further information, please contact Elisabeth Bastow (Team Leader Complex Case Management) on 03 9450 4700.
