We are looking for a strong singer who is confident in front of a mixed group of older patients. You will join two other volunteers. Our goal is not perfection in performance. It is sharing your love of singing with the patients and encouraging their participation is our aim. This is an opportunity for you to feel positive about doing something worthwhile.

Boredom and lack of motivation can be an issue for patients who have a longer stay in hospital and this activity helps overcome these barriers to getting better. It also gives the patients a chance to socialise so we are looking for people who have empathy and are comfortable engaging with older people who may be quite frail.

You are well supported by the Volunteer Coordinator who liaises with patients and staff in preparation of the sessions.

Comprehensive orientation to the hospital and ward environment will be provided along with full support from the Volunteer Coordinator as you settle into the team and your role.
