  • To be eligible to become a Hospital NurtureTime Coordinator, your baby must have been an inpatient in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Nursery (SCN). You will need to be available for NurtureTime scheduled dates and times, flexible with general administration and rostering coordination.

Miracle Babies Foundation is Australia's leading organisation that supports premature and sick newborns, their families and the hospitals that care for them.

The Hospital NurtureTime Coordinator is to establish, develop and coordinate the NurtureTime program by being the main representative for the Foundation’s hospital activities and programs. This role can be based at home for the rostering and administration with the responsibility to be at the hospital for any of the Foundation’s activities or required NurtureTime shifts.

The role includes communicating and coordinating with hospital staff, rostering and training NurtureTime volunteers and providing peer support, guidance and hope within the premises of the approved hospital, for families that have babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Nursery (SCN).

Our valuable NurtureTime Volunteers visit the hospital to provide emotional support to families that have babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Nursery (SCN). Parents, family and friends can ask you questions, whilst you provide them the opportunity to share their thoughts, feelings’ and journey with you, knowing that you have also experienced a premature or sick newborn.

NurtureTime sessions run at Liverpool Hospital on Wednesday 6.30 – 8.30pm

All NurtureTime volunteers will need to undertake Miracle Babies Foundation and Liverpool Hospital’s volunteer on-boarding process. This will include interviews, screening and training (online and mandatory).

Please only apply, if you a proficient communicator, organized have experienced your baby in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Special Care Nursery (SCN) and are able to commit to the role.
