Wildcare Helpline Advisers

    Weekdays in the office, weekend and evening shifts from home (after initial training) - generally on a 4 hour roster of 9.00am - 1.00pm or 1.00pm - 5.00pm but these times can be varied depending on circumstances.

  • Requirements

    You will need patience, a clear telephone voice and enjoy talking to people - often callers are distressed so a calm disposition is also useful.

    Wildlife knowledge is not essential, but a desire to help native wildlife is.

    Some basic keyboard / computer knowledge is essential.

The Wildcare helpline is a seven-day a week telephone referral service, providing advice to members of the public for sick or injured native wildlife.

Members of the public who find sick or injured native wildlife anywhere in WA may be distressed because they don't know what to do to help.

Your role is to give advice and guidance, with full support and guidance from Parks and Wildlife staff.

Please note: There is no direct contact with wildlife with this role.
