Volunteers are required to give their time to offer much needed help to those who are caring for a loved one in palliative care. This role is completely flexible to suit your schedule. Home visitors will offer respite to carers, such as gentle foot massage, meditation/relaxation techniques, companionship, recording memoirs etc. occasional transport. Volunteers require their own transport. Suit volunteers 30+

There is scope for both skilled and unskilled people to volunteer. People who volunteer to work in Palliative care need:

  • Common sense,
  • Excellent listening skills,
  • Emotional stability,
  • Good sense of humour,
  • Compassionate and sensitive towards others
  • Have a stable support system,
  • Tolerant of another`s pain,
  • Non-judgemental
  • Be flexible, committed and reliable.
