Calvary Health Care SydneyVolunteers are required to give their time to offer much needed help to those who are caring for a loved one in palliative care. This role is completely flexible to suit your schedule. Home visitors will offer respite to carers, such as gentle foot massage, meditation/relaxation techniques, companionship, recording memoirs etc. occasional transport. Volunteers require their own transport. Suit volunteers 30+
There is scope for both skilled and unskilled people to volunteer. People who volunteer to work in Palliative care need:
- Common sense,
- Excellent listening skills,
- Emotional stability,
- Good sense of humour,
- Compassionate and sensitive towards others
- Have a stable support system,
- Tolerant of another`s pain,
- Non-judgemental
- Be flexible, committed and reliable.
