  • Weekday – commitment of 2 to 3 consecutive weekdays

The program

Telecross is a programme supporting isolated and elderly people by providing a daily phone call to check on their wellbeing and safety. The calls support people to live independently in their own homes, providing peace of mind and reassurance.

Telecross volunteers are rostered to make a brief phone call between 7am – 9:30am to check on the wellbeing of clients who are isolated and are at a risk of accident or illness that may go unnoticed.

Volunteers keep records of all the calls made and ensuring the confidentiality of clients is maintained at all times.

Currently during the COVID-19 pandemic we are delivering the service through community based home calls with the aim to transition back to the Call Centre in Blacktown.
