R U OK MUM
Broome CIRCLESupport for new mothers who may be isolated from immediate family and close friends. This role may also involve supporting mothers who have experienced loss/grief. In the early stages of motherhood, leaving the house can be a challenge and sometimes basic, practical help in the home can be far more beneficial and comforting particularly for those suffering from things like PTSD, loss, grief, depression and anxiety. Some new mothers may just want company, others may appreciate a food shop, dishes done, a load of washing put through or a cooked meal. Sometimes watching the babies so mum can get an hours sleep, space to eat a meal or have a shower as well as help to coordinate and attend appointments. This is also an opportunity to connect new mothers to a holistic network of local and online support - closing the gap between hospital and home.
