FReezA Committee

As a member of a FReeZA Committee, you will create, plan and deliver live music events (currently online events), cultural and community events and other events that are for Banyule's young people. The FReeZA program is a youth development program that provides opportunities for young Victorians aged 12-25 across metropolitan, regional and rural Victoria to access live music events and other cultural, recreational and artistic events that are drug, alcohol and smoke-free in supervised and safe venues. FReeZA is a Victorian State Government funded initiative. As a member of Banyule's FReeZA Committee, you will work together to design a range of events that promote & connect local young people. Currently, the committee are meeting weekly on Tuesday's from 4pm online to access events based training and to plan online events during the school term. FReeZA volunteer positions are open for young people ages 12-25 living, working, socialising or studying in the Banyule area.

LiveFest 2020 - A Day on the Concord Event

From October, Popcorn Productions will be supporting the planning and delivery of the upcoming youth event 'LiveFest 2020 -A Day on the Concord'. LiveFest 2020 is a free live streamed music event for young people ages 12-25! A smaller event which will allow young people to have fun while keeping safe and meeting the social distancing restrictions in place. This event will be streamed live to the community. Banyule's FReeZA committees role will include artist selection & liaison, marketing & promotion, optional opportunities to be part of the streaming team (live streaming of the event inclusive of training), tech team (broadcasting of the event inclusive of training), stage production & management plus more!

Being part of the Banyule FReeZA Committee you will have the opportunity to:

Responsibilities as a FReeZA member may include:

  • planning and management of events
  • booking of performers and speakers which may include bands, DJs, other artists, film-makers, venues and vendors etc.
  • TECH management - audio visual & sound production
  • Promotion and marketing of events including online communications
  • coordination with other members and tasks of the committee
  • providing support on the day of events which may include stage management, general event support, catering, set up & pack down. Online events include tasks such as tech and live stream management, artist management, marketing and communications
