Dementia Support Volunteer
Baptistcare WA LimitedBaptistcare is looking for skilled volunteers with a background in the healthcare sector to help our Therapy and Leisure team in our memory support units. As a Dementia Support Volunteer, you will work alongside our team in engaging residents with dementia in everyday activities and cognitively challenging tasks. Helping our residents to stay physically and mentally active which is vital to their overall wellbeing, and you could make a meaningful, positive impact on the lives of the people we care for.
Some examples of ways you can volunteer include:
•Running a men’s shed or music therapy program
•Assisting with sensory activities
•Making a family scrap book, memory book or ‘About me’ book
•Supporting hobbies such as gardening, crafts or painting
•Providing one-on-one companionship and reminiscing with residents
