The program Red Cross has been responding to emergencies and providing humanitarian assistance in Australia since 1914. We are committed to strengthening and extending our emergency aid services to assist all Australians prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies.

The opportunity Red Cross will be supporting Tasmanians affected by COVID-19 via daily welfare telephone checks. This role suits someone over the age of 18 who is a good listener and can maintain strict confidentiality of information obtained during a call.

The impact As a telephone outreach volunteer you will support people’s psychosocial wellbeing whilst they completed their mandated self-isolation, ensuring their basic needs are met and they can safely complete their 14 days.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
