Young People's Services Program Assistant - FOMO Lab

    Successful applicants will be able to commit to after school sessions for approximately 8 hours per term, be flexible to volunteer between all four Canning Library locations with the potential to assist at special events. Day and times may change term to term.

    Previous experience working with children, youth and/or families is desirable. Knowledge of 3D printing and coding is not essential, but an enthusiasm to learn about new technology is vital!

FOMO lab is a program of have-a-go workshops for children and youth and is designed to encourage exploration of technology in a fun and inviting environment. Participants can try their hand at coding a robot, 3D printing, exploring VR worlds or crafting slime! Featuring Nao the Robot, Nintendo Labo, Sphero, LittleBits, 3Doodler, UP Mini, Kano Harry Potter coding wand… and more! To find out more about the program, visit: canning.wa.gov.au/librarykids Volunteer duties include set up and pack down of tech equipment, preparation of activities, encouraging participants to have a go at activities and delivering short demonstrations of tech kits.
