Key requirements: You need to be confident tutoring, Physics and/or Chemistry to a Year 12 standard, NSW HSC syllabus. You need to be able to commit at least 1hr/week and have a working computer, webcam and reliable internet connection to participate in Zoom calls. Organisational background: Youth in Motion started in 2016 as a pilot program, The Learning Project, at Naremburn School, supporting local school students who were disadvantaged or at-risk of disengaging from education. The Learning Project has continued successfully running since then. We have also launched The Creativity Project, an Art and Writing Competition to encourage creativity among youth. This year, given the challenges of COVID-19, we have expanded The Learning Project to provide online tutoring services. Benefits of volunteering: The process of tutoring is both challenging and rewarding. It is a great experience for anyone interested in a career in teaching or youth-related work. Impact: By being a consistent, committed and supportive presence in a young person's life, you show them their worth and value and empower them to do their best.
