Our 16-week volunteer program is designed to facilitate learning within a collaborative office environment, as well as offer practical experience working on web development and technical support. The volunteer program also provides valuable opportunities for students / graduates to network with professionals in Sydney’s thriving startup ecosystem.

The Web Development (Wordpress) Volunteer will complement the Community Coordinator's role in ensuring that clients and potential clients are able to access information about the organisation efficiently.

This position is apt to someone with strong interest in satisfying clients' technical requirements to keep their systems and businesses running, streamlining and automating processes, and helping the organisation engage with its audience through the website.

Skills Required: We are looking for volunteers with the following skills, qualifications or experience to fill this volunteer role:

1. Minimum 2-year experience; intermediate to advanced proficiency in using WordPress, coding & configuring using Elementor and Wordpress admin console; configuring and troubleshooting host server issues (Dream Host)
2. Minimum 2-year experience; intermediate to advanced HTML, CSS, PHP and/or other web development scripting language skills for doing backend modifications  of  WordPress sites
3. Minimum 2-year experience; intermediate skills in doing site integrations
4. Ability to interpret research data and apply to website updates; has the resourcefulness to conduct accurate research of open-source applications/ 3rd party software
5. Ability to follow directions carefully; has a high sense of responsibility & accountability
6. Exceptional attention to detail
7. Collaboration and coordination skills
8. Nimble & quick to adapt, learn & improve

Hours: 9am - 5pm, min 2 days per week
