The PainLink helpline Advisor will guide callers and provide up to date, accurate and impartial information and emotional support to people affected by chronic pain. You will need to respond sensitively to those who call, email, write and contact us via social media, who may be people with chronic pain, their friends, carers, employers or healthcare professionals.

Supported through an ongoing programme of coaching, updates and personal development, and with access to healthcare professional input, you will deliver the highest quality service; ensuring that we are responsive to users’ needs and striving to ensure that everyone who contacts us feels that they have had a positive experience of APMA.

Working within a framework of customer focussed policies and processes, you will be part of a team that is committed to continuous improvement and will regularly contribute to the development of the service in order to meet evolving users’ needs and expectations.To provide greater opportunity for people to contact the helpline, the service is open 9am-7pm, Monday-Friday.

APMA is looking for someone who can Volunteer minimum one morning or afternoon a week, minimum 52 weeks, to return messaged calls and record essential online information.

This position seeks a supportive, empathetic volunteer who is able to respond appropriately to callers telephoning the support line.

  • Good listening skills are essential to the position.
  • Lived experience with chronic pain complexities, or familiarity with persistent pain issues would be an advantage.
  •  Callers may be experiencing intense and desperate feelings when they contact APMA. And/or seeking support, information and resources to help manage pain and life issues.
  • Complete accurate data entry
  • Located in Brisbane area. Will work remotely after initial face to face induction training in Brisbane.
