Join the first annual Red Nose Day Telethon! (Virtual Volunteering)

With social distancing guidelines and community restrictions in place across the country, this year we will host a virtual telethon so our volunteers and supporters can still get involved in Red Nose Day from the comfort of their own homes or offices.

On Friday 14 August, volunteers will pick up their phones all across the country to make calls to Red Nose supporters. The virtual project will be run by our fundraising partner, Mycause.

A virtual call-centre means you can login from anywhere, provided you have access to: • A mobile phone • A computer, laptop or tablet • An internet connection

All call charges will be automatically charged to Red Nose, so you won’t be out of pocket.

You can choose from one of the following shifts (these can be altered for groups/teams wanting to take part): • Shift 1 (9:00am – 12:00pm) • Shift 2 (12:00pm – 3:00pm) • Shift 3 (3:00pm – 6:00pm)

How will it work?

• Indicate which shift you would like to sign up for (friends, family or colleagues volunteering in groups can all work on the same shift!) and provide Red Nose with your contact details.

• On Friday 14 August, a 30-minute introduction session will be hosted by Mycause online (via Zoom) to run you through everything you need to know for your shift.

• Volunteers will open a website that will connect their phone to the Red Nose Telethon program and allow them to make calls to our supporters.

• A script will appear on the screen for volunteers to read out (you are welcome to edit the script to suit your style of communication).

• If a supporter would like to make a donation, youcan input the donation details to our fundraising page and the donation will be processed! (if they say no, thank them for their time and proceed with the next call).

• The Red Nose and Mycause team will be updating the volunteers throughout their shift as we reach various milestones. They will also be available for any support inquiries you might have.

The Red Nose Day telethon will be a fun and engaging way to make a difference for thousands of Australian families that rely on Red Nose services. You will get a chance to speak to Red Nose supporters and thank them for their wonderful support.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
