About the role:

We are currently recruiting for Retail Online Volunteer(s) to join the team. The purpose of this position is to assist with sorting, photographing and uploading of incoming goods to our retail online shops (online second-hand bookstore and Ebay shop). The role will work across 5 key areas of accountability including sales and customer service, people management, operations, stock management and workplace health and safety.

Duties include:

-Provide high levels of online customer service in line with Save the Children standards.

-Optimise online offering, with direction from Retail Online Operations Manager.

-Handle Customer feedback when necessary and provide solutions where possible, with support from Retail Online Operations Manager.

-Ensure stock pricing is consistent across online platforms.

-Attend designated shifts as per roster and notify Retail Online Operations Manager of absences.

-Maintain compliance with SCA policies and procedures.

-Maintain a high standard of personal presentation.

-Maintain confidentiality and privacy in matters relating to the online shops, customers, procedures and security.

-Ensure a full understanding, have access to and comply with policies and procedures.

-Ensure Depot and surrounding areas are kept neat, secure and orderly at all times.

-Sort goods as per stock management guide ensuring all processes are followed and pricing aligns with Retail Online pricing guidelines and Retail Online Guideline standards.

-Act in a safe manner at all times, including complying with all safety instructions and training given at the workplace.

-Participate in and contribute to Health and Safety awareness and improvements.

-Comply with emergency evacuations procedures.

-Report all incidents/injuries and potential hazards in a timely manner.

-Be aware of, and consider the risks associated with your everyday work and apply appropriate mitigation measures.

This role may also include assisting with the pickup and delivery of stock for the Save the Children Australia online shops on a cyclic and needs basis as well as the delivery and collection of donated goods from members of the public.
