Maldon Walking Group Volunteer
CHIRP Community HealthLocation: Maldon Neighbourhood Centre, Maldon Time commitment: Fridays, Mondays or Tuesdays, 1.5hrs per week
The Position – Roles and Responsibilities • Walk with people at the group’s pace and comfort level • Provide companionship • Coordinate new registration forms to be completed by new walkers • Coordinate attendance lists each week • Provide First Aid, if required
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required • Ability to work with people of all ages and abilities • Current First Aid Certificate is highly desirable First aid training will be provided at no charge, but the volunteer needs to be willing to complete the training.
Screening Requirements • Volunteers are required to provide the name and contact of one person that can provide a verbal referee check • Volunteers are required to undergo a National Police Check – the volunteer role is dependent on the outcome of this check. Please note that CHIRP Community Health pays for the cost of the Police Check. • The successful applicant is required to sign a Confidentiality Agreement and Pre-existing Injury/Disease Declaration • CHIRP requires compliance with its Volunteer Code of Conduct.
