The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Burwood District Bowls Club.

The person:

Ideally not associated in any way with lawn bowls in the past, as we seek a totally lateral minded free thinker with initiative and aspirations to contribute original thoughts ‘outside the square’. The past: The Club was established in 1947; has long had a great history of competitive pennant on its magnificent greens, and the rising popularity of barefoot bowls means that everyone can enjoy our great grass green, surrounded by beautiful garden. It is a volunteer managed and run facility, located 15km East of the Melbourne CBD in a well-established suburb with time poor young families to elderly citizens demographic, situated on an off main road site with limited parking. The Club has already attempted many “stock standard” initiatives that are the ‘bread and butter’ of most not-for-profit organisations, but we now seek ‘for profit’ initiatives that will enhance our prospects of becoming a more thriving community fulcrum for social sports and recreational activities. A list of these past endeavours are available on request.

The assignment:

To increase the number of people using our facility and services on an on-going relationship. This will involve the following tasks:

  • Formulate a plan, methodology and associated benchmarks to increase club membership and participation
  • Provide advice on social media promotion of the club and its services
  • Provide advice on diversifying our revenue streams and raising funds
  • Provide advice on fundraising events and activities
  • Identify new sources of funding (including government, philanthropic trusts and corporate grants)

Project times and commitment required: Start date preferably as soon as possible in readiness for the season opening in August 2020, but work from home and times and duration are all flexible.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
