At the heart of The Salvos Doorways Program is a passion to support the basic needs of individuals experiencing disadvantage and communities in times of difficulty.  The Salvos Doorways Meet & Greet volunteers promote a safe and welcoming environment for individuals as they arrive at our centre to receive support.

As part of the Meet & Greet role you will welcome visitors, directing them to the waiting areas, amenities and informing relevant staff.  You will also identify each client’s purpose of their visit, assisting clients with completing application forms, providing clients with refreshments and ensure the foyer is left clean and tidy at the end of the day.

Qualifications & Experience Requirements For The Role

  • Food handling and customer service experience would be beneficial, but not essential as on the job training and induction are provided for the right candidates
  • The Salvation Army will provide access to Food Handling Certificate training as required

Mandatory Requirements Of The Role

  • Fully complete The Salvation Army's volunteer registration process
  • Criminal History (Police Check) Check
  • Working with Vulnerable People's Card / WWCC
  • Complete TSA mandatory training and induction modules and any other training as required

Roster & Time Commitment

  • 10am - 1pm Thursdays
