Spend time with an elderly person who would enjoy your company as a social visitor at HammondCare Darlinghurst residential aged care home. You’ll engage with residents in a variety of ways, from conversations, activities, board games, walk to the local shops together, and gardening.

You’ll enjoy this volunteering role if you have an ability to build and maintain good relationships, as we’re caring for people who have been homeless or are at risk of homelessness and have high care needs. You will be required to show proof of having a flu vaccination – or be willing to have the vaccination prior to volunteering.

Ideally you'll be available for one hour each week, for 12 months or longer. We would be happy to chat about a suitable time and day during the week, Monday to Friday.

HammondCare is an independent Christian charity and we're passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need. HammondCare is located at 118 Darlinghurst Rd, Darlinghurst. Successful applicants will be required to complete a police background check which we’ll arrange. Due to Covid19, we have additional criteria and you'll need to be aged over 18 years old, and be willing to wear a face mask when directed.
