Virtual Progress 2020 - Online Event Volunteer (Remote)

We Need You! To Help With:

  • Registration: welcoming guests and speakers
  • Moderating chat discussions, facilitating online spaces (over Zoom and other platforms) and AV and technical support
  • Virtual help desk and general support: providing support, information and ensuring guest well-being at the event
  • Social media: help capture great moments and generate buzz online through live social media updates throughout the day
  • Looking after the welfare of other volunteers

You will be working closely with the Centre for Australian Progress team.

Key Information:

  • Virtual Progress 2020 is a rapid-response conference addressing how Australian civil society responds to COVID-19.
  • It will be held fully online. Volunteers can be located anywhere but need to be able to assist during some portion of GMT+10 daytime.
  • Volunteers are required during June 22-24, with preference given to those who are available across both June 23 and 24.
  • Volunteers will need to attend an induction and team briefing prior to the event, as well as training for their specific role.
  • Volunteers must be 18 years or older.
  • Various roles are available, depending on your skills and interests

Who you are:

  • Passionate about social change
  • May have past experience volunteering/working at events (preferred, but not critical)
  • Experienced in any or all of the following areas: Social media, marketing, or communication; Registration/customer service; Ushering; Stage management; Events; AV/technical support; Leadership or management positions
