Volunteering SA&NT manages the registration and referral of spontaneous volunteers for South Australia. After a disaster is over, volunteers may be required to assist with recovery. There are a variety of ways you can contribute as a spontaneous volunteer. Volunteering SA&NT is currently working with recovery agencies to ascertain their needs for recovery volunteers.

We are looking for volunteers who are able to assist on Kangaroo Island for recovery after the bushfires, and have skills in the following area:

• Experienced/qualified tree feller/arborist
• Level 2 or 3 chain sawing skills
• Own equipment appreciated but not required

There are a number of trees that require cutting down on private property on Kangaroo Island.

Deployment dates vary but availability is from now until April 2020. Any assistance is appreciated. Volunteers can be given temporary accommodation ( tents ) if doing more than one day.

More details will be given to those able to volunteer.

Please note: those who are able to volunteer, your details will be given to the recovery organisations on Kangaroo Island needing help. At this stage volunteers will need to arrange their own transport to and from Kangaroo Island.
