Experienced Sewing Workshop Volunteer Coordinator

- Oversee workshop arriving prior to the start at 9:30am to set up sewing machines etc
- Ensure refreshments are available for guests
- Welcome participants and engage them in the tasks
- Supervise volunteers who are assisting and ensuring mindfulness of participants’ visa status
- Oversee Work Health and Safety and Self Care requirements in partnership with Welcoming Centre Manager
- Ensure the room is left in a clean and tidy state at the end of the session
- Have input into making the program interesting and enjoyable for participants
Knowledge & Experience
- Ability to take on a leadership role
- Understanding of visa classifications and implications for some participants
- Commitment to the well-being of participants, the task and program brief
- Ability to supervise other volunteers and delegate tasks
- Excellent interpersonal skills with volunteers and visitors
- Cross-cultural skills and respect for diversity
- Understanding of Work Health and Safety requirements and self-care

Minimum Commitment A minimum commitment of 12 months is required.
Reporting To: Welcoming Centre Manager and Host Project Leader
National Police Certificate and Working with Children Check required.
