Outline of the role:

Cancer Council NSW is a community funded, community focused cancer charity dedicated to working towards a cancer-free future. There are things that we can all do every day to help make this happen.

We require an active listener and capable communicator to support our Healthy Living after Cancer program for one day a week. This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand new program of which purpose is to check in with participants who have already participated in our ENRICHing Survivorship program. You will be providing weekly check in phone calls with the same participant(s) over 4 weeks. Full training will be provided for this role, but a basic level of health/nutrition knowledge is required.

Based at our Woolloomooloo office you will undertake the following duties:

• Prepare and deliver telephone support calls to Healthy Living after Cancer participants • Make referrals to other programs where required • Provide health, nutrition and exercise recommendations where requried • Record data from each call into our CRM system • Registering applicants over the phone for participation in Survivorship programs • Accurate data entry and data maintenance • Other administration tasks to support the program as required

Our ideal volunteer will have:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Knowledge of nutrition, health and exercise • Proficiency in Microsoft office, specifically Excel, Word & Outlook • Ability to learn our CRM system (Engage/Dynamics) • Ability to work independently as well as in a team • Availability for one day per week for the next 8-12 months (preferable days Monday, Wednesday or Friday) • Have a commitment to the cause of Cancer Council NSW

Desirable:

• Knowledge of survivorship after cancer
