PLEASE NOTE: Although this program is currently suspended due to the situation with COVID-19 in Australia, we are still taking expressions of interest from people who would like to be kept in the loop about this volunteering role. Because as soon as this pandemic is over and life resumes as per usual, whatever that may look like, we will need to have Volunteers who are trained and ready to proceed as soon as possible. This Organisation would love some friendly Volunteers to visit with people who are frail, aged, isolated or living with a disability. They may be at home or in an aged care facility, but either way you can help to reduce their social isolation and act as an important link to their community.

Get together for a chat over a cup of tea or coffee, share stories, read a book together or play a game. As a Companionship Volunteer you would be an excellent listener, show a genuine caring interest towards and compassion for those who are vulnerable.

Volunteers are welcomed from all walks of life and share a common goal - enabling the social and emotional wellbeing of communities, families and individuals.

This is a very rewarding and positive role that requires an ongoing commitment to make weekly or fortnightly visits, for at least one year. You would need to be over 18 years of age and hold a current drivers licence.
