Saturday Administration Volunteer
Pooraka Farm Community Centre IncKey Responsibilities: • Make the Centre welcoming and ready for business in a professional manner • Checking rooms and setting up as required • Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of the Centre • All Administration Volunteers are required to become familiar with the Office procedures manual and work to the guidelines set in place. • As a team member work cooperatively with all staff and volunteers, respecting confidentiality • Ensure the safety of self and others and the Centre in accordance to OHS&W guidelines
Daily administrative duties: • Answering phones and message taking • Data entry • Faxing • Photocopying • Daily statistical collection • Handling of class payments and correct recording of monies received • General office duties • Closing Procedures
Essential Qualities / Skills • Good communication and interpersonal skills • Reliability and commitment to the Centre • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team • Computer literate • Typing skills • Excellent phone manner • Initiative • Reliability • Willingness to learn new skills
Experience Preferable
Training Opportunities • Access to any free training may be offered to volunteers after a 3 month period • Access to approved seminars/ workshops and courses relevant to the position may be offered to volunteers after a 3 month period

Conditions • Volunteer must have DCSI working with Children Screening and Working with Vulnerable people screening before commencement of role • Volunteers are required to work within the guidelines of this description and to comply with the conditions of the Volunteer Policies and Procedures. • Volunteers are required to become familiar with the Administration Manual located in the front office and adhere to the procedures. • Registered Volunteers are covered by the Centre Personal Accident Insurance Policy • A requirement of the volunteer registration is to attend the formal ‘Induction & Orientation sessions with Council and the Centre
