Communication Director

Since 2005, Cambodian Kids Can has been giving at risk girls the chance to change their futures and lift themselves, their families and their communities out of poverty. Run by volunteers, donations go directly towards educating at risk young women in the Prey Veng province.

Cambodian Kids Can relies on an incredible team of volunteers, from fundraising and events to providing the girls in Cambodia with English classes onsite.

We are seeking expressions of interest for role of Communication Director. The Communications Director plays a pivotal role on the CKC board who has ultimate accountability for CKC messaging across all external channels. The Communications Director develops and implements the CKC communications plan that will assist the charity in achieving to it’s vision and fundraising objectives.

The position is responsible in raising the charities profile, as well as the effective engagement of donors and volunteers.  The communications and engagement activities will attract, grow and retain the charities donors and social media communities. We are looking for a volunteer with

  • Experience in leading and providing direction to meet objectives. Prior volunteer Board experience would be highly regarded.
  • Minimum two years experience in communications, marketing or brand/management role.
  • Experience working as a volunteer in the area of communications would be highly regarded.
  • Excellent creative writing and content creation skills.
  • Experience developing and implementing effective, segmented communication plans across multi-channels.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining and updating a website and social media platforms.
  • Ability to critically analyse and evaluate social media, web and email campaign data and metrics and draw insights to inform overall communications and engagement strategy.
  • Ability to work with a high level of autonomy, as well as part of the Board with diverse responsibilities.
