Eastwood Community Centre Inc works under the governance of a volunteer Management Committee whose members have a wide range of experience and expertise in the 'not for profit' sector in South Australia.

We are seeking members to fill two vacancies on the Management Committee, which includes position of Treasurer, and general members.

Ideal candidates would have desirable qualifications, skills and or experience in the following areas: Qualifications and/or experience in Accounting/Financial Management. Experience as a community based not-for-profit organisation. An understanding of and/or interest in the community services sector. Experience in corporate governance within a not-for- profit organisation. A strong commitment to social justice. A strong commitment to collaborative decision making *Effective communication skills.

The Management Committee will be accountable to the community ensuring that the organisation produces results, remains solvent, and complies with all its legal, financial, and ethical obligations.
In accepting the position, Management Committee members undertake to provide sound governance and effective leadership to the organisation by ensuring that the organisation has:

Clear strategic directions and achievable plans in line with its purpose and values Adequate resources to carry out its work Competent personnel An effective policy framework to guide its work, implement its plans and meet its obligations Adequate internal controls to ensure sound financial management, risk management and legal compliance Adequate internal accountability mechanisms to ensure compliance with policies and procedures and to monitor organisational performance.

Management Committee members may be requested to formally represent the organisation in sitting on sub committees, participating in consultation processes or attending delegations to politicians or government officers.

The Management Committee currently meets at Eastwood Community Centre Inc., 95 Glen Osmond Road, Eastwood every 6 weeks on a Wednesday 6.00pm onwards.

The Treasurer position will form part of the Finance Sub Committee and should anticipate a minimum time commitment of up to 5 – 8 hours per month, which includes preparation for and attendance at Management Committee meetings, and providing financial advice and support for the Director and Finance Administration Officer.

Management Committee members are expected to demonstrate their commitment to the organisation by attending all meetings.

The Management Committee is made up of nine members who hold a position for 2 years with a right to reapply for up to three terms.
