Online Tutor
Youth In MotionKey responsibility: to approach the student with a positive attitude, be empathetic and caring and to build their self-esteem in the process of working towards their educational goals. Skills/Attributes: prior tutoring/mentoring experience is preferred but not essential Organisational background: Youth in Motion started in 2016 as a pilot program, The Learning Project, at Naremburn School, supporting local school students who were disadvantaged or at-risk of disengaging from education. The Learning Project has continued successfully running since then. We have also launched The Creativity Project, an Art and Writing Competition to encourage creativity among youth. This year, given the challenges of COVID-19, we have expanded The Learning Project to provide online tutoring services. Benefits of volunteering: The process of tutoring is both challenging and rewarding. It is a great experience for anyone interested in a career in teaching or youth-related work. Impact: By being a consistent, committed and supportive presence in a young person's life, you show them their worth and value and empower them to do their best.
